Hello...for all those keeping tabs on our Tylerman, he had a gastro appt. on Friday. He weighs 10.2 kg (22# 8 oz) and is 81cm (almost 32"). He is at 3rd percent for weight and 5% for height (for an almost 23 month old boy). We are glad he is growing but it still seems unusually slow, based on the fact that he is now eating MORE then the RDA of calories for his age....he should be growing more! He gets 720 calories a day JUST from formula and he DOES eat 3-4x a day too). He did finally triple his birthweight (7#7oz), which is what they "expect" kids to do around their 1 year bday, now at almost 23 months.....I guess we need to rejoice in every victory (actually GAINING weight) but putting it all in perspective--he has gained 3# in 1 year and only 2# in 8 months.....and he **IS** eating!! So, I had made an endocrinology appt in January and planned on canceling it when it got closer but the gastro told me to keep the appt, which is 4/22, and see what the endocrinologist may be able to offer on Tyler's s...l...o...w... growth. It is possible he might just be small, as I am (though Joe's NOT) but we need to cover all our bases.

On a VERY happy note, besides being small he is 100% healthy!!! He has allergies but once they are controlled he is a perfect little guy--he eats, sleeps, and runs around like a maniac (a normal almost 2 year old boy).

As to the herbs, he is still on them but he was sick and off them for a bit and I saw no difference so I think they have served their purpose and at this point he is healthy and doesn't need most of them...he still takes vitamins and I will continue with the herbs for his immune system but I think his GI tract is *finally* healed!!!

I will keep you all updated!

Nancy
