Yes, I do understand the difference thanks to Steve some time ago. I have
one advantage in that my allergy is not severe. I just feel crappy for two
days and then I'm over it. I have not had tests but did it by process of
elimination once a E-N-T specialist ruled out sinus infections as a cause
rather than an effect. I also found that lactose free cheeses often have
casein but that does not appear to bother me. However, anything with
lactose also has whey and that I do react to. As my LI morphed into an
allergy, lactaid pills just didn't do it for me. I stopped all dairy (well
except when ambushed) almost 4 years ago. It's been a wonderful 4 years.
