It was pronounced La-froyg,
accent on second syllable, hard G,
diphthong as in 'boy,'
when my wife and I were encouraged to try some
in a hotel bar in the Highlands, long ago.
Spent another year in Britain and
never heard it pronounced otherwise.

We might have a rhyming contest.
