I remember that mcw too.  I used to live in a rather noisy location
where I could hear the wwv signal but couldn't understand the audio.
There were definitely times when the mcw was the only way to make wwv
usable.

Of course all good and knowledgable people know that we don't need cw
anymore since communications is now so good!

Yeah Right!
