No damage should result from turning a pc off while it is in cmos. You
should look for another explanation for why it won't boot. For instance, I
own an Athlon pc with a really grumpy power circuit. If it is turned off
with the switch or a power outage, it won't power on again until it has been
unplugged. There is a rear mounted on/off switch and sometimes I can cycle
that on/off/on to get it back on. If I use windows shutdown to power off, I
never have this trouble.

While working in Bios I turned off computer to reboot before exiting and
saving the changes I made. now the computer will not boot at all. Looks like
mother board may be dead or something. is there a way to reset mothreboard
back to default setting? Now I have nothing so can not boot to floppy Disk
to reinstall bios software.
