It seems like the new MB BIOS would not support the 850 MB HD. It is a Western Digital. Downloaded a utility from WD called EZ-BIOS. It modifys the bios so it will recognize the larger drive. Don't know why the Microsoft program that formats drives larger than 528(?)MB didn't work but it didn't. Will look into up-grading the MB BIOS so that it will work with any drive larger than 528MB.
