I helped a friend swop her old ASUS socket 7 motherboard
because it could only take Edo ram. I put her Pentium 166
cpu into an old Octek Rhino 12 board so that she could use
both Edo and Sdram. She now has 64mb (4x8 Edo ram
+ 1x32mb Sdram)which is a big improvement on her previous
32 mb Edo ram alone. Problem is now I can't get the cpu to
run at 166 mhz. Following all the settings for 166mhz on
the Octek site, I still get only 150 mhz. If I try to
increase the speed by changing the fsb or the multiplier
the closest I can get is 183mhz.
What can I do? Should I leave it overclocked at 183mhz or
just settle for 150mhz? Or maybe there's some other setting
I should have changed? I would appreciate any advice or
comments. Thanks.
Cathy
