We met with the ped GI today--Dr. Narmer Galeano--and he seems wonderful--he took so much time with us and was very knowledgeable and didn't subscribe to that "tests means everything" mentality. After a LONG consult , he ordered the following lab work:
CBC
ESR
Comprehensive metabolic panel
Serum Immunoglubines
Anti-gliadin
Anti tissue transglutamianase Antibodies
Stool OBP and giiardia antigen
Stool fat qualitative
Stool culture

He will see us in 2 weeks-- Wed., August 7th, 3:00 pm, and will discuss the lab results and discuss further testing (xrays, scopes, etc) and treatments

He told me to keep him off dairy; soy is OK, lots of fats in diet (due to low weight and the possibility that diarrhea can be caused by too little fat in the diet). I am to keep him on Alimentum, and NO other liquids, and push food as much as possible, but NOT force him to eat.

He was 20#7oz and 30 inches today (approx. 25% for height and 5% for weight.

I will keep you all posted.

Comments/suggestions/advice appreciated :)
