Ingrid Gordon asked for suggestions for good GF pasta.
Dietary Specialties 1-800-544-0099 P.O. Box 227, Rochester N.Y. 14601-0227
sells an excellent GF Spaghetti, brand name Bi-Aglut, which is manufactured by
Heinz. The ingredients are corn starch, rice starch, potato starch, isolated
soy protein, defatted soy flour, mono-and diglycerides. It is stated on the box
that it is a delicious alternative for those on gluten-free or wheat-free diets
and it is a product of Italy. I spoke with a representative at Dietary
Specialties today and she informed me that in the Spring there will be several
other shapes of pasta available from Bi-Aglut. Dietary Specialities also sells
a variety of Aproten pastas that are very good. The ingredients in the Aproten
ditalini (short ribbed macaroni) are corn starch, potato starch, rice starch,
mono-and diglycerides, saffron.
