Oh, that grace period.

No, he has a two-year grace period.

Actually, five year. The first two, he can keep his callsign. After
the first two years, if he renews, he gets a new sequential
callsign. No, his grace period isn't up yet.

BTW, I meant CSCE, not MCSE. Egads.
