Hi all, sorry for the cross post here but I am in need of a little bit of
help. I am wondering that if I am using JFW in my MS DOS or Say-all mode
if I can use Radio Service Software that uses strictly DOS? In a few
weeks here I would like to start using some Motorola RSS for the XTS-3000
which is a digital HT that is used on many of the new Motorola digital
radio systems. I might also be using this with the Astro Spectra which is
a mobile radio manufactured by Motorola. Today I was surprised to learn
that the software for the XTS-3000 is actually run in a DOS box. I don't
know if I will need a slower CPU, but I might need one as previous
versions of Motorola software have run on slower PCS. I did try once some
Motorola Software with Master Touch, and it read the menu options but when
it came to interact the computer with the radio they claimed that there
was too much noise on the serial bus line that the radio and the screen
reader uses to interact with the computer. I am now using JFW and like I
said I'm hoping that the RSS will run on a faster machine or there is a
trick to slow the CPU down on whatever machine I am using, without
rendering JFW useless. At any rate, any help with this would be
appreciated, and thanks in advance.
