That was true enough for most of radio history. But by the time TV sweep
tubes began to be used for SSB transceiver final amplifier stages, the
output networks for said transceivers were being designed to b less
forgiving of impedance mismatches. IRIC my TR-4 instruction manual
specified that max SWR should be no greater than 1.4/1.
