                 Hello,
         Wayne K9DI es Sequoia here.  I don't use the quick offsett as it's
useless to me, I just manually setup a split using the dual VFO's.
as far as bypassing the keyer on the 706, U need go into the menu that
controls power es flip through that menu until U get to the keyer option es
then rotate the tuner knob until is says off.
