  Hi Doug,
as I have researched the Ft817 and other potentially similar products, the
closest to any kind of answer to this question came from an Icom technical
support person who said that Icom was considering such a radio and that if
Icom did market one, it would be even better than Yaesu's.

During that conversation I asked him, if such a product were truly under
consideration, to please make it known through whatever channels were
available to him, that I and other blind hams would welcome such a rig
offering accessible functionality.
