I refer to that below my reply.

The original G5RV didn't have any coax, purely open wire feeder as it
was designed in the days when coax was only used for very well funded
and sophisticated commercial or military installations.

Additionally, I understand that the tuning/coupling circuit is critical
to the design, but cannot recall what Lou Varney said in the talk of his
which I attended some 20 years ago.
