Hey there.
Well, when i did it about 10 years ago, we had a local explorer group as
part of the local PD. Having listened to scanners for years, i knew the
ropes from the radio side of things.
The first night on the desk, i was doing police, fire, and rescue without a
problem.
Most of the consoles are pretty easy to figure out.
We have motorola in the local PD over here, and it is pretty easy.
Like i said, the hardest thing is getting and finding out about positions.
How do you handle the alarm boards?
How can ya tell where a board alarm is, or don't you guys deal with that
stuff that much?
Regards,
Jed
