Harvey's information is not correct. Here's the accurate information direct
from Alan's web site at:

http://www.braillerman.com

And he either accepts credit cards (a relatively recent innovation) or he
requires payment before the Brailler will be returned. He does not bill
following return of the Brailler.

Alan can either do a straight repair and cleaning or he can do a full
engineering update, meaning that any parts that have been changed or
improved since your Perkins was originally manufactured will be replaced
with the most current parts. I recommend this, especially the new pressure
roller design. In either case, the machine is totally disassembled, fully
cleaned by soaking in solvent, re-lubricated and re-assembled. His normal
base charge is $45 plus parts and shipping. I've had several machines
repaired by Alan and the average charge, including engineering upgrades on
each machine, was around $110 total. His work is warrantied for one year.
