Thank you to all who responded to my urgent message.

We took Laura (she is 2 years old) to the emergency room that evening
(Thursday), where the doctor there thought she had asthma. She was
admitted to the hospital, has been started on repiratory therapy treatments
and needs to get oxygen to keep her blood saturation levels up. On
Saturday she was tested and found to have an RSV (Respiratory Syncitial
Virus) infection. Her pediatrician is somewhat disturbed that she hasn't
responded very well so far. She's still running a temp and has a lot of
wheezing and chest congestion.

I have had to do a lot of "educating" for only knowing about CD for a week.
The kitchen at the hospital did not have a lot of appropriate food on hand.
I brought in some of Laura's special food, but today it was "cleaned" out
of the refrigerator in the pantry on the hospital floor. When I
complained, they apologized, but said that "outside" food couldn't be put
into the same refrigerator where snacks and drinks for hospital patients
are kept. I asked that they provide me with a refrigerator in her room
then. At that point they relented and said that I could keep her food in
the pantry after all. The nurses didn't know if the medications that were
ordered for Laura were GF or not. For those interested, Schein's
Metronidazole is GF.

Thanks again for all the responses.
