Without a daily dose of high quality carbs from these sources, I get strong
cravings and eat a lot of junk that happens to be lying about my house.
Also, I go into ketosis which is something I'd like to avoid.
Remember -- if you can eat it raw it can be considered paleo. I think you
can eat winter squash, yams and sweet potatoes raw. They are paleo. White
potatoes are not, although I find them quite tolerable compared to, say,
corn or wheat.
Paleo is not the same as low carb. Low carb paleo is a special form of
paleo. Ray, in his book, talks about drinking fruit juice for instance,
something I never do. I think fruit juice is too much of a spikey carb for
me. Tubers and roots don't seem to be. I find them essential.
