I really do think that any local food you would eat in Egypt would be far
superior to what you would get in your local supermarket at home, much
respect as I have for Sainsbury's. They are simply not sophisticated enough
to seriously adulterate the food supply (unless they are importing American
wheat). When you go there, look at the locals and see if they look healthy or
unhealthy. Are they nomal weight, or overweight, are they happy and cheerful,
or not. What are they eating, and how do they eat. Go to the food markets and
see what's on sale. What do their teeth look like - are they straight and
even, or are they crowded and uneven, like British peoples' (!) You may learn
more this way than from any book. Be observant, and keep us informed.
