What has helped me prevent as much binging is the realization that paleo
does not necessarily imply ultra low carb. Try eating half a yam or sweet
potato with dinner, or a bunch of cooked carrots, turnip, parsnips, beets.
You will feel more satisfied after eating, and these foods tend to release
endorphins that make you feel good, something you miss on very low carb
diets. Emphasize including tubers or roots every day, rather than fruit.

Paleo, according to Ray, is a matter of avoiding neolithic foods, not eating
low carb. The first edition of Neanderthin barely mentioned carbs.

It is hard to get lots of carbs on a paleo diet, but you can make a
conscious effort to eat carby foods that are still paleo, and you might find
it much easier to eat this way over the long term with fewer binges and
"cheats." Avoiding non-paleo foods over a period of time may help a lot of
different health problems even without being ultra low carb.
