Try the NoSpin Boot Disk for your machine, if you haven't already, on a new
floppy. Sometimes a damaged floppy can cause such problems. Also, make
sure you run Scandisk on the new disk, including the Physical Scan option.

Subject: [PCBUILD] cd-rom not found
After doing a complete format of my hard drive in preparation for a clean
win98 install I started the machine with the win98 start-up disc and, the
win98 cd in their proper places. After the boot disk is read, I selected
boot with cd-rom support as I have done many times in the past. I get the
message"cdr101 file not found, not ready reading on drive D:". I checked the
bios set-up and it tells me that I indeed do have a cd-rom installed. I'm at
my wits end trying to figure out what has gone wrong with a system that was
working properly before I formatted. When I tried to format again it gave
me "bad command or file name. Anybody out there that can help me? Thanks
