This may not be a problem with the monitor itself but the cable to it. If
you have acces to another monitor cable, and the cable itself is not mlouded
into the monitor I'd swap cables and see if that makes a difference.
Often with time, the wires inside the cable become broken, especially around
the plug that goes into the monitor.
Swap with a known good cable and see if that makes difference.
