I must admit I avoid it if possible.
My first job after getting my BA was examining Occupational Pension
documents (long legal documents which specify the rights ande
benefits of pension schemes). Late '70s in the UK the government
brought in a 2nd tier state pension to which you had to contribute
unless you were "contracted out" into your own firms pension scheme.
Those private schemes were what I had to examine to ensure they
provided benefits at least as good as the state scheme.
Occasionally I had to phone an Insurance Company to query the wording
in one of their schemes. I rang:-
"May I talk to someone about Yorkshire Biscuits Pension Scheme"
"Please hold....
... Hullo - Canteen".
!!!???@@???!!!
