At last summer's ALA conference, Rhea Joyce Rubin handed out an
impressive 13-page bibliography entitled "Serving Library Patrons with
Disabilities. A Selective Bibliography 1995-2005." I'm sure some of the
resources listed there lend themselves to the training of library staff.
Rhea, would you be willing to post this bibliography to AXSLIB (as an
attachment, I'd suggest)?
Thanks,
Axel

In response to Tracy Scharn's message dated Oct. 20, 2005:
Hi Folks,
I've been poking around looking for disability-related training
materials
for an upcoming training for our library staff. I've found some books on
the
subject, but nothing that really gives an overview of providing quality
public service to library patrons with disabilities. At this point I'd
settle for a pamphlet or guidelines to show folks. Does such a thing
exist
before I go ahead and try to create one myself? I've scoured ALA's
website,
but found nothing really. I also contacted ALA's Diversity department
but
never heard back. Any tips on resources you all can provide would be
great.
Tracy
