Hi Karen and interested folk,

The problem with changing the government in British Columbia is the ultra
right wing government was just voted in last year. While in opposition
this new Premier worked on keeping the audible book program in place. Now
in power, who cares uh. They only have two oposition elected
representatives against them in the legislature. The massive cuts they are
embarking on will be harmful to many programs in B.C.. However, the audio
book production might be restored as there is a very large protest going on
in the media, on the streets, and by mail, email, and fax. As for the
education of all students in grade school in
B.C., the kids will be facing larger classrooms and larger groups of kids
with disabilities in one room verses integrated throughout the school.
Teachers will not be able to provide the essential individualized
assistance often required for children to learn.
