Greetings,
Problem:
On boot (win98) the 'debug' windows pops up with the following message:
"Display Driver does not support Get Chip ID!" Click OK (the only
option) and it disappears and everything seems to be working all right,
including video.

Background of the problem:
The machine, Micron Transport XPE laptop with Phoenix BIOS 4.05,
(originally with win95), had its HD reformatted and win98 installed. Video
driver (Cirrus Logic 755 PCI 1.10) was not detected, but installed
successfully from the original Micron CD.

What is this 'get chip id' feature ?
How can this debug windows be disabled ?

Thanks in advance,

Irena. ([log in to unmask])
