Darla,
Two things come to mind.
1. Your sound card isn't seated correctly in the MOBO slot.
2. Your sound card drivers aren't installed correctly.
You might want to have your tech check the seating of the sound card and
verify that the latest and correct version of the sound card drivers are
installed and that there are no conflicts.
