My Debian GNU/Linux system now won't boot.  The drive
is seen, but when LILO is called to boot the machine,
the following is seen:
         LILLinux02

Then the drive starts to thrash and clatter.  Like the
head thrashing.

Does this sound familiar?  Especially to
GNU/Linux people?
