Symantec make a utility called GDISK. I find it more powerful than FDISK. If you download it from here,

make a bootable floppy with the files extracted to it. Boot the PC and type at the A:\ prompt GDISK 1 /DEL /ALL
This will delete all partitions regardless of O/S. Next type GDISK 1 /mbr
will reinitialise your masterboot record. the number 1 is signifies the primary disk, if you wanted to use it on a secondary disk, you would have to change the value.
