Hi Maddy,
Thanks for the welcome.
<<You have also read several very good books, but one of my own
personal favorites is one you didn't mention: The Protein Power LifePlan, by
the Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades. They have an extensive chapter in there
called, The Leaky Gut Syndrome, which deals with the theory of the foreign
lectins in grains and beans being at the root of autoimmune diseases. I think
you'll find it an interestig read.>>
I just bought "Protein Power" from amazon.com. It arrived in the mail today.
To my disappointment, it says not one word about bowel disease. I guess I
bought the wrong one of his books. But I've read this before, about the
lectins. I found an article on the internet about it. There is substantial
evidence that inflammatory bowel disease is caused by overconsumption of
carbohydrates and/or eating the wrong carbohydrates (grains, beans, and
starchy tubers).
Does anyone else on this list have IBD?
- Sheryl
