My cousin Diane (the former chess champion) grew up in Culver City.  She
recalls seeing one of those old movies when she was a kid; the audience of
other Culver City kids erupted in cheers, because the streetscape in the
movie was quite recognizable in the Culver City at the time.

Not any more, she says -- all that stuff is gone.
