A sighted impaired person?

Yeah, I'd agree, sighted people are rather impaired in some respects
relative to the blind-able. :) So I suspect any of the radios should
work with the impaired sighted folks.

But beyond that, I couldn't tell you which radio is best. Do you want
single band, dual-band, or multiband? Any particular models you're
considering? What about price range?

Most folks I run into seem to like the Kenwood mobile radios
though. At least the blind ones. Those folks who have impaired
blindness don't seem to be able to settle on an across-the-board preference.
