I recently upgraded from Win2k to Windows XP Pro and need to reconfigure my
hardware. In the process, I lost the display of DCE speed on my modem
connection. The modem is a Supra Express 56k (SUP2730) external serial. It
responds to the W2 parameter to force display of the DCE speed, but when I
add this to my configuration string in modem advance settings, it continues
to display the DTE speed. I even tried to change the init string in the
registry to be AT&f0W2, but that did not help either.
Is there any way to force the modem to stay in the DCE (W2) mode through a
reset? Or is there an XP setting I am missing? Thank you for any help.
