I would suspect that since laptops have only one hard drive it must be by
default a master.  From a logical standpoint I'd think you would need to connect
the second drive as a slave.


I am trying to install a laptop drive in a desktop PC.  After connecting the
adapter to connect to the IDE and power supply, how do you configure it as slave
or master to connect a second IDE device to the same cable?
