Hi Paul,

Most of the Blind community in our area use JAWS. Primarily because they
were the first to support the various windows platforms and once we invested
in JAWS we stuck with it. Window Eyes development lagged behind for a while
and I am not sure if they support NT or 2000 platforms yet. Many people are
most comfortable with what they grew up on. If the student is a windoweyes
user, then it makes sense to keep them with window eyes if it is supported
on the platform they will be using. If they are new, then they may be better
off with JAWS because they will have more local support for it. Most
visually impaired users I talk to complain about both screen readers, but
there is not much else out there yet. Many Windo eyes users seem to like it
better, but when I interview them, they are not doing as much "computing"
with it as JAWS users are. I probably am not helping you much.

Bill
