I just came back from a conference in DC and was very disappointed in
what was availabe and prices at the Smithsonian. Prices were way higher
than here NYC. My suggestions to all and esp to those traveling with
children.....hotels now routinely offer [and don't charge] for a refrig
in the room...I routinely ask for these because I am diabetic.
Bring nut butters, rice cakes etc because there are very few places in
the downtown area to get food supplies.

My next conference I will bring fewer clothes and more food!
Ann
