Your system is trying to boot into Safe Mode. The next time this happens
choose option 3, Safe Mode, and see if you are able to boot into that mode.
If you can't you may need to reinstall Windows by booting up with the 98
boot floppy and rerunning the Windows setup. If you can successfully boot up
in Safe Mode, run the system file checker (sfc) by going to Start/Run, type
sfc in the box and click ok. When sfc opens select the second option and
type in the name of one of the system files that are missing, then click
start. You will be prompted to select a function from a list of options,
select the restore. You need to do this for each of the missing files. You
will also need to have your Windows CD.
