The Fourth International Group Relations Symposium occurs during a
period of great changes within and among organizations and
institutions. The theme of the symposium, "Pleasure & Pain in our
Working Life - Between Tradition & Transformation" is intended to
provide a space for those who study or work in group relations and
organizational development or who teach in these areas to reflect on
and learn with one another about this theme. We hypothesize that
links are necessary to connect the past and the present with the
future and that spaces need to be sought and discovered to build new
connections and insights.
Every transformation is achieved in tradition and moves through a
period of loss to another place. Individuals and organizations engaged
in transformations often do not consider mourning as a process of
transformation. Given the rapid changes occurring in the world, we
suggest that providing a space for mourning is vital in order for
transformation to occur in a significant way.
The design is intended to provide a variety of opportunities for
participants to discover, experience, reflect on and apply learning
about organizational and institutional transformation.
Membership will be limited to 120 Participants. The application
deadline is July 15th
