It doesn't sound like it's the floppy drive to me. It sounds like it's a
windows problem. I get the same thing occasionally with my dvd drive on
occasion. I'll swap disks out and the old information stays on in explorer.
I think it didn't matter too much if I was trying to run setup, as long as
both disks had a setup file on them. The problem seems to have straightened
itself out, but it wasn't anything I did. I'm also using windows 2000, so
I'd suspect the os. Like I said, I have no solution, but perhaps this
information might mean something when Compaq comes out and looks at your
system. My system isn't a Compaq, it's a home built ABIT SE-6 (Intel 815)
with a Celeron 633, Matrox G-400 32m, sound blaster live platinum, usr 2976
pci hardware modem, 256 meg of ram (pc133 running at pc100). I hope this
info is of some help to you. I'm not sure if it's a SP1 or SP2 problem
either as I have been messing with all and I wasn't paying much attention.
