This may not help, as you could have some problem like CPU overheat, etc,
etc, but a couple things:

1. If it is overheating, there have been several ezine articles dealing
with the overheat situation.

2. As much as I love Peter Norton - from 15+ yrs ago Norton Commander (we
still use NC when shelling out to DOS) - we've had problems with
Symantec/Norton Systemworks when running as a TSR. Running it on a
when-needed basis, instead of running it in the background worked much
better for us.

3. If you determine that CPU overheat is NOT the problem, reformatting
and reinstalling the OS has cleared up a bunch of problems for us.
