First, the so-called upgrade disk is actually a full version.  You do not
need to have Win 98 already installed. I just installed Win 98 from the
upgrade disk as a clean full install.  You just need a Win 98 or 98 SE disk
to stick in your CD-ROM when the installer asks for proof.  Also, please
drop the "s" from format c:, unless you have some special need for inserting
setup switches.  I have never heard anything about FDISK not recognizing big
drives, and considering what is now standard equpment on new machines, that
would be a big problem if it were so.  Joel

Jim is probably correct about most everything, but I believe you can
install either version (original or upgrade) "cleanly," ie, as a new OS -
we did. The only restriction is that you must own an original/upgrade
version of Windows 9x which you can insert into your CD when asked by the
WinME install program.
