The link below is an article on the American Heart Association web site.
It outlines the dangers of excess "free fatty acids" pointing out the need to approach "a 1-1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids". (Now, where have I heard *that* before?)
After recomending two meals of fatty fish per week, the final sentence reads...
"The new dietary guidelines also emphasize the importance of an overall dietary pattern, focused on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products and fish, lean meats and poultry, rather than a tight focus on reducing one dietary component, such as fat."
They still want us to eat grains and dairy (sigh) but note the shift *away* from emphasizing the need to reduce fat.
