I'm thinking about putting together a mid- to high-end
home system.  Performance and price/performance
both matter to me.

What do people see as good choices from the current
crop of motherboards and processors?  Where does
the competition between AMD and Intel stand these
days?

Any other advice (video cards, scsi vs.non-scsi, raid,
etc., etc...) would of course be welcome.
