hi. my hard drive was running fine until one day my
computer froze up, and upon restarting, the hard drive
would not boot win98. i get the message "disk boot
failure, insert disk...." so if i use my boot disk, i
boot dos, but that is all i can access on the hard
drive. while boot dos it says that my hard drive does
not have a valid FAT partition.
if i run chkdsk, i can see that all of my data appears
to be there still. if i run scandisk, no errors are
detected. if i try to run fdisk, i get the message
"error reading fixed disk." format does not work
either.
do i have a virus?
if anyone can be of any help i would greatly
appreciate it.
