You didn't specify interface. If it's SCSI you're after, I consider Maxtor's
Atlas V drives to be reliable. They're enterprise drives. The company I
work for uses them in their Intel server board based boxes for the
software/hardware
systems they produce. Our software does an ENORMOUS amount of local disk
crunching. Speed and reliability are musts.

I can't say I know as much about floppy drives, but I have heard good things
about TEAC's products. Their CD-ROM drive is good; I presume their floppy
drive is as well.
