Mary Wolden provided some good information. I am providing answers to her
questions in case she, or others, have additional comments. Modem: PCI,
PCTel HSP MicroModem. Software: Cheyenne BitWare. OS: Win98se. Modem is
working, but software seemed emphatic about modem using IRQ5 or IRQ7. I
suspect there was a known issue that Cheyenne corrected by modem using
IRQ5 or IRQ7. BIOS is Award; I do not see any option in BIOS to change
IRQ. Software modem question was asked to verify modem flow control is
properly set. Does Plug and Play accurately set flow control?
