Hi Everyone-

As most people can probably agree, this list serve has been such a lifesaver.
I am writing this to let you all know of my determination to increase CD
awareness. I was diagnosed with celiac disease a little over a year ago and
since then have tried to learn everything about CD. I am also a registered
dietitian, which I thought would come in handy during my learning process.
As I went back to all my books from school I was very suprised to find very
little about the disease, so instead turned to the internet. I know some of
you probably have had some bad experiences dealing with dietitians and
probably know more than they do. Well, I am finally getting the opportunity
to tell dietitians about CD. I am a member of the Chicago Dietetic
Association. We have monthly meetings in which we have a different speaker
come and talk about a nutrition related topics. Well, this coming year I
made it a point to get celiac disease on the list. It worked, and Dr.
Guiliano for the University of Chicago Celiac Disease program is coming to
talk to DIETITIANS all about CD. I am sooo excited and just had to let
everyone know about this. If you live in Chicago or surrounding area and are
interested in attending send me a note and I will see what I can do. Thanks
for all the wealth of info.
