Here's what Fantastic Foods sent me regarding their GF foods and mfr'ing
procedures dated June 26, 2001:

"At this time we do not have dedicated lines for the production of our
gluten-free products. We do, however, thoroughly clean these lines to
avoid cross contamination. Because most of are ingredients are dry,
they are easily dry cleaned between batches and thoroughly wet cleaned
at the end of each day. While we take every precaustion to assure that
there is no cross contamination between products, we cnnot make any
guarantee to that effect.

The sources of our "spices", are spices such as basil and oregano, etc.
Our spices do not include grain ingredients. All of the natural
flavors that we use in our products are vegetable derived. Grain
ingredients, by law, have to be listed on the ingredient panel.

I am amazed by the number of consumers who contact us on a daily basis
struggling with Celiac Disease. We continue to learn about this
devastating condition and are committed to producting more products for
those struggling with this challenge. To that end, we are re-packaging
many of our products to include a "gluten free" nutritional tag on all
products which conform. We will also include our toll-free number on
the box and encourage your members to call with any questions and
concerns they may have."...

By the way their # is 800-288-1089 in case you want to let them know
that labelling a package as "Gluten free" when they do not guarentee
their products to be gluten free could be considered misleading and
possibly false-advertising!!
