Gentlemen
If you observe, the abusive language on Gambia-L is usually
caused by a few People like that "Alieu Keita" who come on the
L because of personal issues they have with themselves. I can
confidently say that it is never the wish of any well meaning
gambian to turn away the tourists but the sad realities of
toture, kidnappings, intimidations and other vices by our present
govrnment must be exposed.
Of course these vices will never be perpetuated against the
tourists and the government will do its best in presenting The
gambia as "the smiling Coast" . Being people who are so
passionate about The Ga
mbia, I urge you to look at news papers
in the country and or talk to ordinary Gambians. You dont have
to be a genius or a sociologist to see the realities of the
gambian situation as oppose to the lies peddled by the government.
We love The gambia more than you guys do and know more about
The Gambia than you guys ever will. About helping other Gambians,
go look at western unions books. The amount we contribute to
the development of the gambia is more than that which you guys
will ever put up.
In our quest for a better country, we shall expose every rotten
practice of the government and if that deters any tourist from
visiting, so be it. We have survived centuries without tourism
and we will rather voice out our pains than languish in it
because we hope to attract tourists.
